EDUCATION PANEL will work to provide holistic learning opportunities, including Life Skills, Games, Sports & Fitness Skills and Personality Development. The following are the major initiatives of the Panel:
- To sensitize the educationists on the values of life skills and soft skills and encourage them to provide the right support for learning;
- To organise for the delivery of a variety of vocational and employability skills trainings for the youths and unemployed;
- To augment the infrastructure facilities at schools, including toilets, drinking water supply, games & sports, classrooms, etc.;
- To nurture Excellence in Teaching, through rewards and recognitions for the teachers, as well as, making available their lectures online, for the student community at large; and
- To generate atleast TWO Gold Medalists from Erodu City, in Games & Sports, at the National Level.
08 – OEF / Education – 1 / 2015 – 2016 /
Chithode Govt. Hr. Sec. School Build. Paint & Civil Works Painting of Government School in Chittode:
Based on the request from the Headmaster and for the benefit of the students, the entire buildings of the Government Higher Secondary School in Chitode was repainted on 11.01.2016 at a cost of Rs. 1,66,040 / – by the Olirum Erodu Foundation.
This has benefited 600 students and 35 teachers in the school.

14 – OEF – Education – 2 (I,II,III,IV,V) 2015 – 2020 Promotion of Young Sports Talent P Iniyan

Olirum Erodu Foundation (OEF) has set a Goal to achieve at least TWO Gold Medallists from Erode District at Olympic or International Level Tournaments. Accordingly, OEF has identified Master.P. Iniyan, a school student from Erode, and sponsored him to participate in national and international competitions at a cost of Rs. 35 lakhs for seven consecutive years from 2015 to 2020. Through our sponsor Master.P. Iniyan has achieved the title of 61st “Grand Master” of India.

17 – OEF – Education 3 (I,II,III, IV) / 2016 – 2020 / Smart Kubos Project – Railway Junction Smart Kubos (Public Library) :
Olirum Erodu Foundation have been operating a small library called “Smart Kubos” in 2 waiting rooms of Erode Railway Junction from 2016. Through this project the passengers use their waiting time and can change their waiting time intellectually. This has project benefited thousands of people who come to the train station daily.

47 – OEF / Education – 5 / 2017 – 2018 / Project – Job Fair for Persons with Disablity:
Olirum Erodu Foundation, Cheshire Homes Coimbatore Office and District Disability Welfare Office jointly organized a grand Job Fair for Persons with Disablity on 19.11.2017 at Parimalam Mahal on Perundurai Road, Erode with the aim of enhancing the lives of the disabled.A total of 50 private companies and 3000 persons participated in this employment camp which was attended by 651 Differently abled persons out of which 175 were immediately employed and 211 Differently abled persons were placed on the waiting list and arranged for employment in a month. Skills training for 86 persons, eye examination for 125 persons and prosthetic leg for 17 persons with disabilities were provided. In addition, more than 200 transgender people have so far benefited from providing self-employment training, employment camps, and self-employment equipment.
Welfare of the Differently abled
46 – OEF / Education – 4 (I, II) / 2017 – 2018 / Project – Free NEET Coaching Classes:
In 2017, the Indian Medical Association, Erode Branch and the Olirum Erodu Foundation conducted free NEET training classes with qualified trainers and teachers to prepare poor students of class +1 and +2 stdying in Government Schools for the Medical NEET (NEET) examination. These students participated in this free coaching classes and faced the NEET exam for the year 2018.

48 OEF/ Education – 6 / 2017 – 2018 / Project- Promotion of Sports Talents – Boxer
Olirum Erodu Foundation (OEF) has set a Goal to achieve at least TWO Gold Medallists from Erode District at Olympic or International Level Tournaments. Accordingly, OEF has identified Mr.R Mahendran, a student who excelled in boxing at the national level, OEF has supported him for his training in Thailand in the year 2017 at a cost of Rs. 7 lakhs which helped him to participate in Asian and international competitions.
76 – OEF / Education – 8 / 2018 – 2019 / Project – Donation of Computers for Govt. Schools
Based on the request from the Erode District Collector Dr. S. Prabhakar, IAS., 3 computers worth Rs. 75,000 / – were provided by Olirum Erodu Foundation for the use of Salem Government High School students with the contribution of SIDBI Bank, Erode.

49 OEF / Education – 7 (I,II,III) / 2017 – 2020 / Project – Thalir Thiran Thittam
Life Skill classes called “Thalir Thiran Thittam” are being conducted in government schools to impart life skills education to students of various classes. The project was launched on 05.10.2017 by Erode District Collector Dr. S. Prabhakar, IAS at a meeting attended by more than 50 Headmasters, Assistant Headmasters and teachers from 35 schools around the city. So far 112 schools in and around Erode have been provided with Thalir Thiran Project CDs and lessons are being conducted regularly. 5000 students and 350 teachers have benefited from this project. And also General Exam Awareness Training Classes have been conducted to alleviate the exam fears of students facing public exams. This has benefited 550 students and 12 teachers from 4 government schools.

77 – OEF / Education – 9 (I, II) / 2018 – 2020 / Smart Kubos – Teachers Colony:
Olirum Erodu Foundation in association with Teachers Colony Welfare Association has formed a mini library caled “Padipagam” in the Reading room of Corporation Park on 10.05.2018 . This Library is widely used by students and the general public in that area.
78 OEF / Education – 10 / 2018 – 2019 / School Library @ Peiyavalasu School
In order to provide library facilities to government school students, Olirum Erodu has started a separate library at Periyavalasu Corporation Middle School from 28.03.2018 and have appointed and maintained an individual librarian on behalf of Olirum Erodu Foundation. 550 students and 25 teachers have benefited from this School Library project.
79 – OEF / Education – 11 / 2018 – 2019 / PUPPET SHOW- for Government School Students:
In Government Schools of Erode Olirum Erodu Foundation in association with Young Indians – Erode Chapter has arranged Awareness plays through the “Puppet Show” aimed at preventing child sexual abuse. This project has benefited 1100 students and 42 teachers from 9 schools.
109 – OEF / Education – 12 / 2019 – 2020 / Project – Quiz Programme Joint with YI:
Olirum Erodu Foundation and the Young Indians (YI), Erode Chapter jointly organized a “Varnam Vilzha” – Quiz Competitions for government school students for the two years 2019 and 2020 – quizzes Cash Awards and shields were presented to the first three schools. 2000 students from more than 50 schools in Erode district participated and benefited.

135 – OEF / Education – 13 / 2019 – 2020 / Project Cots for Govt. Hostels
On 02.08.2019 on behalf of Olirum Erodu Foundation 38 two tier cots at a cost of Rs. 3,54,000 / – was donated to 5 Government Hostels of Backward and Adi Dravidar Welfare Department in Modakkurichi, Sivagiri and Kodumudi. This has benefited 300 students studying in Government Backward Classes and Adi Dravidar Welfare Hostels.

146 – OEF / Education – 16 / 2020-2021 / Promotion of Sports Talent – Archery Mr. K Yukendran
Olirum Erodu Foundation (OEF) has set a Goal to achieve at least TWO Gold Medallists from Erode District at Olympic
or International Level Tournaments. Accordingly, OEF has identified Mr.K. Yukendran, a school student who has achieved state level achievement in the field of archery, and sponsored him with the Recurve Bow and Archery Equipments which is required to create a record in international competitions at an estimated cost of Rs. 2,40,457 / -Through this he has participated in varios national and international level competitions.
147 – OEF / Education – 17 / 2020-2021 / Veerapan Chatiram Boys Hr.Sec School Solar Panel Works:
A 10 KW solar panel was installed at Veerappanchatram Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Erode at a cost of Rs. 3.5 lakhs for the use of students and to reduce the school’s electricity usage. Rs. 1 lakh has been provided for this project on behalf of Olirum Erodu Foundation.
